Each year we hold several full day workshops at Dence Park Community Centre, 26 Stanley Road, Epping NSW from 10am to 4pm. Over the years we have learnt a variety of different smocking, heirloom and construction techniques to help us through the process of making a beautiful hand smocked item. In 2016 we had Lyn Weeks with sleeve & hem finishes and Judith Adams with a circular pincushion or tuffet. In 2017 we had heirloom sewing with Lynne Holyoake, a crewel embroidered tape measure cover by Carollyn Pearce and fabric manipulation with Julie Trickett. In 2018 we had another crewel 2 day workshop with Carollyn Pearce, this time a book cover, as well as a smocked bag with our own Marie Corney and a Mountmellick workshop with Yvette Stanton. In 2019 we had another heirloom class with Lyn Weeks, a construction day with our member Sandra Oldis, and a mesh handbag with our own Hazel Drinnan. In 2021 we had a workshop with our member Val Alexander who showed us how to work with wool felt and embroidery. In 2022 we had Lyn Weeks back again and also another workshop with our member Sandra Oldis and another one with Judith Adams. In 2023 we did a sit & sew workshop and worked on Flutterby, a lovely dress from Australian Smocking & Embroidery. Also Lyn Weeks with Linen & Lace workshop. In 2024 Lyn Weeks will be doing a beautiful sampler in February whilst in September she will be holding a workshop on bias techniques using your sewing machine.
