The year ahead 2018

The dates have already been booked for our regular morning and evening meetings, teachers have been booked.  Between our December, 2017 meetings and our February, 2018 meetings we will have a chance to enjoy the Festive season and New Year, as well we may have time to work on some unfinished projects or start new ones.

In February we will fill the glass cupboards in our foyer with beautiful smocked items which is sure to please all visitors to Dence Park.

Mini lessons have already been worked out.  Hope you will take part in these at our meetings.  We will be doing a smocked Dorothy bag, a small mesh bag for machine feet, a mystery bag (which must remain a mystery), Christmas in July we will start a beautiful smocked Christmas stocking which we will surely complete for Christmas.  We will also work on making animals from tiny buttons, a smocked coin purse, a pincushion, a thread catcher, a small stocking, not for Christmas but just a pretty one for decoration.

We will again go to Ferndale for our annual retreat, take part in “It’s in the Bag” project for women and also breast cancer awareness month in October.

There will be a fashion parade, a bus trip and another Sit and Sew Day at Guildford Leagues Club.
